The Commercial and Independent Special Interest Group is composed of members who work in the essentially “for profit” area or who are employed in education, the Armed Forces or centrally with the CIEH/CHGL and other agencies (e.g. the HSE; FSA; NHS).
Current membership of 567 people (400 on email) comprises consultants, trainers, technical and administrative personnel, in-company advisors, expert advisors and people working under contract for local authorities and employed by a commercial agency. Many members are self-employed and others work extensively overseas.
The nature of the C&I member responsibilities and the need for both self reliance and first class technical competence means that many members are authors of technical publications, lecturers, recognised public speakers and EHP’s of repute.
They are involved with a wide range of professional and industry bodies and will typically be consulted and involved in such areas as development of new legislation, judging national competitions, dealing with media communication as required.
