We need your help
EHPs would play a vital role in dealing with a major flu pandemic, the Department of Health’s most senior pandemic flu adviser has said.
Prof Lindsey Davies, national director of Pandemic Influenza Preparedness, told the CIEH Best of the Best conference that good respiratory and hand hygiene would be key to reducing the impact of an outbreak.
She said: ‘These things that you know about – they are the real basis of public health. You are 9,000 people who have a daily opportunity to make a difference. I want to make a plea to you to spread the word to get good hygiene practice into normal use.’
