What is brain friendly learning?
Brain friendly learning is a versatile training technique that can be adapted to any subject area you teach. Unlike more traditional methods, training is focused on the learner rather than the trainer. A brain friendly approach to learning moves away from the ‘death by PowerPoint’ scenario, and gives the learner more responsibility for their own learning.
Research has shown that people are more likely to absorb information into their long term memory when they use the whole of the brain. While people usually adopt a preferred learning style, using multi-sensory learning methods actually helps to keep the brain more awake and alert. Linking different systems in the brain in this way improves the transfer of knowledge into the long-term memory.
Why should I attend?
This exciting one-day workshop will allow you to experience brain friendly learning methods first hand. You will be taught creative techniques to help you incorporate multi-sensory learning methods into your training using brain friendly learning techniques.
Working with an industry expert you will share ideas on dealing with a diverse range of candidates including:
- Those who don’t speak English as their first language
- Disruptive candidates
- Candidates who are reluctant to attend
To ensure that you can fully appreciate the benefits of brain friendly learning we will provide additional support for three months after the workshop. You will be tested to see how much knowledge you retained from the day, as well as receive more information about incorporating brain friendly learning into your training programme.
