Overview
This practical and interactive one-day workshop is designed to refresh your first aid knowledge and help you meet the registration criteria to deliver the CIEH Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work.

Aims and outcomes
- gain an in-depth understanding of the syllabus in order to successfully deliver the qualification
- understand and appreciate the legal requirements, roles and responsibilities of first aiders in the workplace
- teach candidates how to assess incidents and conduct scene surveys
- receive practical and interactive demonstrations of all first aid equipment required to deliver the qualification with clear instructions in how to teach candidates to use the equipment
- gain valuable knowledge of the resources available to support your training delivery;
- Understand the need to maintain a trainer portfolio and know what this must include.
Trainers will review changes to adult basic life support introduced by The Resuscitation Council UK in October 2010. These must be implemented before 1 April 2011 to meet HSE guidelines. The changes are based on early defibrillation and effective chest compressions.
