Overview
In 2011, the CIEH introduced the Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid as the latest addition to its first aid qualifications portfolio. This qualification meets the first-aid training requirements set out by The Practice Guidance in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for Ofsted regulated childcare settings.
Why should you attend?
This practical and interactive one-day workshop is designed to qualify trainers to deliver the Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid qualification. This workshop will refresh and update delegates paediatric first aid knowledge and meet the registration criteria.

Aims and outcomes
- review the roles and responsibilities of paediatric first aiders
- understand the legal requirements under OFSTED and the Early Years Foundation Stage
- receive practical sessions covering essential paediatric first aid skills
- gain an in-depth understanding of the qualification syllabus and key areas that need to be covered in order to deliver the qualification including the practical assessment element
- receive guidance on the practical assessment of candidates paediatric first aid skills
- gain a full understanding of the first aid equipment required to deliver this qualification
- understand the requirements of external verification and the need to maintain a trainer portfolio

CPD
This workshop is accredited with five hours and 45 minutes of CIEH CPD.
