This one-day workshop will prepare you to deliver and assess the practical elements of the new CIEH Level 2 Award in Manual Handling – Principles and Practice qualification. It is aimed at trainers who need to teach safe practical training techniques to candidates who carry out manual handling activities in their workplace.

You will refresh your knowledge on safer handling principles and the challenges involved as well as acquire methods to effectively teach realistic practical techniques to candidates.

You will go through the new qualification step by step; from identifying and correcting candidates’ unsafe techniques, to implementing manual handling practical assessments.

Aims and outcomes:

This training workshop will provide you with:

  • the practical techniques for correctly handling and lifting, including push and pulling
  • a thorough understanding of the latest developments and principles of manual handling
  • the tools to enable your candidates to contribute to the development of safer manual handling methods and tasks in their workplace
  • the ability to identify and correct poor handling practice with safe interventions
  • the ability to conduct in-company manual handling training sessions - including  how to successfully resource the equipment you need to deliver the training
  • information on manual handling injuries, the activities which cause them and the need for safe handling practices
  • the knowledge and skills required to undertake the practical assessment for the CIEH Level 2 Award in Manual Handling Principles and Practice qualification 

Costs

£320 (ex VAT) This fee includes attendance at the workshop, CIEH trainer registration and a training pack.

Please note: in line with Ofqual requirements, all trainers will need to provide proof of identification (e.g. passport or driving licence) on the day of the event.
