Liz qualified as an Environmental Health Officer in 1990 at Leeds Polytechnic and shortly afterwards left Local Authority and moved to work for a firm of solicitors in Birmingham. Here she carried out inspections and attended court for actions under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
In 2000, she joined North Lincolnshire Council where she now manages the operational housing service, which includes the licensing of Park Homes. Prior to the introduction of the Housing Act 2004, Liz was one of the trainers for Warwick University on the HHSRS and Enforcement - part 1 of the Act. In addition, Liz also went back to lecture at Leeds on the Bsc and Msc Environmental Health courses on housing issues for a number of years. She is a member of the LGA Private Sector Housing Group that meets to discuss national and local Housing issues and any Government proposed policy changes and a member of the Park Homes Working Group. She also sits on the recently formed CIEH Housing Experts panel.
Sarah qualified in 1991 from Nottingham Trent as an EHO and then spent a year in South Holland DC and 16 years at Mansfield DC as an EHO/Senior EHO in food and health and safety. Since 2008 she has been in her present role at Rushcliffe BC as Protection and Safety Manager managing the Food, Health and Safety, Private Sector Housing and Environmental Protection functions.
Dealing with the numerous issues with the Park homes sites in the Borough, forms part of her work. She was a member of the DCLG working group who produced guidance on the mobile homes legislation including enforcement tools and fee setting arrangements.
