Qualify to deliver the CIEH qualification

Specifically designed to answer the growing demand to qualify to deliver* the CIEH Level 2 Award in Healthier Food and Special Diets, this workshop guided delegates through each element of the qualification step by step, and explored current Government guidelines, syllabus content, updated training pack, course book and course delivery.

Through exercises to incorporate in training delivery, the highly experienced speakers talked through the different nutritional requirements of hospital patients, school children and older people as well as long-term nutritional public health issues.

Practical tips on how to modify recipes and menus to meet the nutritional needs of various groups and individuals were also included in the programme.

Outcomes of the workshop:

  • Gain a sound understanding of the eat-well plate and key healthy eating principles
  • Have a full appreciation of the qualification’s level, content and style
  • Identify new ways to encourage participation and engage interest of candidates from different education backgrounds and the food industry
  • Learn how to convey the necessity of promoting a message of healthy eating in your training
  • Develop creative ideas to aid the delivery of a more innovative course using the materials

Delegates attending this workshop received the Healthier Food and Special Diets training pack and trainer/centre registration*.
