Private Water: Implementing the new regulations workshop - Speakers

John has been involved in the design, installation and servicing of all types of water supplies from single properties to village schemes for many years. He has supervised schemes from new bores and surface supplies from source to tap. From the 1990’s he has been involved in presenting at seminars and workshops on rural supplies for both clean and waste water systems. Together with David Clapham, he delivered the “Training on your Doorstep” seminars for Scotland authorities when their Private Water Regulations were issued in 2006.

Since retiring from Marshall Pumps in 2008, he has been operating his own water consultancy service carrying out risk assessment, system design and project management services. His expertise on PWS in acknowledged in the Technical Manual: Private Water Supplies.

 

David ClaphamDavid Clapham, Principal Environmental Health Manager, Bradford Metropolitan District Council

Ideally placed to deliver this session, David was also involved in assisting the production of information and web site guidance that will support this new legislation. He brings over 12 years of experience teaching environmental health staff about private water supplies to this workshop. David is also the respected author of 'Small Water Supplies - A Practical Guide' and co-wrote the Water Cycle chapter in the latest (19th) edition of Clay's Handbook of Environmental Health. Prior to this he was part of the Government's Expert Group on Cryptosporidium in Water SUpplies whilst studying small water supplies in the UK and USA.
