Listed below are the upcoming events and activities for the Somerset branch of the South West region
Somerset Branch Meeting
Date: Thursday 22 March 4pm - 8pm
The Auction Centre Jnc 24 (M5) (literally half a mile from Jnc 24!)
Varied programme of speakers with buffet break about 6pm.
The second half theme is research with the aim of encouraging members to take on research projects.
Speakers to date are
- Sharon Smith from CIEH HQ – CIEH HQ update and the new Assembly, the Olympics preparation update etc.
- Bob Davis from B&D Consultancy – Dangerous Dogs – The law, how to spot them and what to do about them
- John Conrad from Bristol City Council – the “Work Well” programme and an update on the Principal Authority initiative
- Claire Turbutt from Plymouth City Council – A threshold analysis of the UK Food inspection Programme (an economic evaluation of part of EH)
- Emma Gall and Denise Thomas from Weston College – a joint presentation from two student EHOs about their final year projects
The meeting will start promptly at 4pm
