Fellowship

Fellowship remains the highest honour which the Board of Trustees can bestow on a member. It allows a member to refer to themselves as a Fellow of the CIEH and use the 'FCIEH' designatory title.

Fellowship can only be awarded to people who are already members.

There are two routes to Fellowship:

  1. Election
  2. Thesis

Fellowship by Election

Fellowships by Election will be granted to members ordinarily of at least 10 years' standing who, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, have given distinctive service to environmental or public health or have shown evidence of special knowledge or ability in relation to the work of environmental or public health.

A member can be nominated by their peers, their Region/SIG or via a petition.

Further details can be found in:

Fellowship by Thesis

Fellowships by Theses will be granted to members ordinarily of at least five years' standing who have submitted a thesis accepted and approved in accordance with the Fellowship by Thesis Regulations.
