There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the work of the CIEH. Doing so is good for your own personal development and enables you to make a real contribution to the profession.
You could choose to get involved in your region or Special Interest Group, for instance by helping with organising regional events or undertaking a regional PR role. The work isn’t paid but it is satisfying and will help you to maximise your networking opportunities.
If you have specialist knowledge of a particular area of environmental health, you might consider contacting the policy team to put yourself forward for membership of the CIEH’s Expert Advisory Panel. You can also contribute by writing a case study describing a successful intervention, by undertaking and publishing a piece of research, or by providing input into a CIEH policy consultation response.
If the idea of training or disseminating knowledge to a wider audience appeals, why not become a CIEH registered trainer?
