On Tuesday 22 November 2010 the International Special Interest Group hosted a special event for the visiting Commonwealth Fellow.
- Emmery Mbaha, District Health Inspector, Ugandan Commonwealth Fellow. Talked about Solar water Purification and Public Health in Uganda;
- Albert Musonda, Public Health Inspector, Zambian Commonwealth Fellow talked of Pest Control in Lusaka and Zambia;
- Florence Muriithi, Senior Public Health Officer, Kenyan Commonwealth Fellow explained about Port Health at Nairobi Airport, Kenya;
- Anselmo Kapandila, District Health Inspector, Tanzanian Commonwealth Fellow talked on Public Health in Rural southern Tanzania;
- Karen Brown, Regional Food Safety Co-ordinator, Jamaican Commonwealth Fellow detailed Food Safety and Environmental Health in Jamaica.
In addition presentations were given by:
- Dr Kwalombota M. Kwalombota, Project Manager, International Health Links Centre Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine spoke on Promoting effective health partnerships worldwide. The IHLC aims to enhance health care in low income countries.
- Shane Godbolt, Director, Partnerships in Health Information (Phi) works with many partners in developing countries in Africa. Phi is also working with an information initiative around Public Access to Health Information in developing countries.
- Update by Andrew Berry, EHO following his recent visit to Zimbabwe.
