CIEH Associate Parliamentary Group promotes international EH

The CIEH is to hold a briefing day later this year for senior officials at the Department for International Development (DFID), following the latest meeting of the Associate Parliamentary Group.

The seminar, to be hosted at 15Hatfields aims to set out the CIEH’s diverse international activities and to explore areas of potential collaboration and funding with DFID.

The proposal was put forward and supported at the fourth meeting of the APG for Environmental Health, which met at Portcullis House, Westminster last month.

CIEH Chief Executive Graham Jukes said:

“The CIEH is extremely active on the world stage. Our regions are twinned with a number of African countries and we have a policy of working with partners wherever we can to support public health infrastructure development and such activities will increasingly occupy our agendas in the coming months.

“The all parliamentary group has provided an added impetus to that activity and I’m hopeful that we can build on the partnership that is developing for the benefit of public health improvement.”

The next APG for environmental health meets on 17 November.
