CIEH London is delighted to announce that London has successfully bid for additional funding to help improve food safety in the Olympic host and venue boroughs in the capital.
The FSA have recently announced that they will be providing a grant which will allow 1200 businesses over 18 months to benefit from workshops and one to one coaching in SFBB.
The project in London is being managed by Healthworks in London on behalf of the Association of London Environmental Health Managers working with the CIEH London Regional Policy Officer, Local Authorities and the training and consultancy company, NSF -CMi.
The first phase of the project will begin next month and it will run until the end of March 2010.
Tay Potier, CIEH London policy officer is a member of the project management board for SFBB in London. She said: ‘It is great news that London has been awarded more funding to help implement SFBB in the Olympic host boroughs. These grants should help to improve business awareness of food safety and encourage good practice at a time when London will be under the eyes of the world.’
This is the fourth year the FSA has given these grants as part of its ongoing commitment to helping food businesses comply with EU hygiene regulations.
