The role of the Port Health SIG is to support its members and encourage their participation in SIG and CIEH activities. We believe an active SIG shows a healthy and enthusiastic profession and membership.
The Port Health SIG seeks to influence regional and national government policy in relation to environmental and public health policy and legislation.
We also actively encourage our members to contribute to consultation documents and CIEH policy development.

||Port Health SIG 11th Annual Open members Forum
The Open Forum meeting will take place at Chadwick Court, London on Wednesday 10th February 2016.
The Open Forum is open to all members of the Port Health SIG.
The 17th John Bryning Memorial Address will be given by Dr John Piggott, Public Health England who will give members an update on Food & Environmental Sampling and the role of the Food Examiner.
Other speaker will include the new Chief Executive Ann Godfrey, Steve Knight (US Embassy) and Jon Buttolph (CIEH)

||Practical Ship Sanitation Inspection - 10 March 2016
This is a low cost training event following on from the Port Health SIG’s very successful Ship Sanitation Seminars.
The event will look at developing consistency in the issue of control certificates.
The seminar will cater for new and experienced officers, looking at decision making in issuing a Ship Sanitation Control Certificate.
