As a chartered body, the CIEH must directly assess prospective members who aim to be granted designatory letters ('ACIEH' and 'MCIEH')
The new membership assessment replaces several of our existing ‘gateway’ assessments and passing it will allow you to become either an accredited associate or voting member of the CIEH.
To take the assessment you will need to submit a portfolio of evidence prior to the assessment day (see page 2 and 3 in the guidance document below for more information about this). The application form below highlights the deadlines for submitting your portfolio.
For overseas applicants we are looking to conduct the interviews either by conference call or over the internet via a facility such as ‘Skype’.
If you are interested in taking the assessment and are currently based overseas, please contact us at membership@cieh.org and we will advise how best to proceed.
The fee for the membership assessment is £120 for UK and Irish Republic applicants.
For other applicants, the fee is the lesser of £120 and 0.57% of your gross annual salary.
An application form, guidance document and regulations can be found here:
If you wish to discuss the membership assessment with us, please contact us at membership@cieh.org.
We look forward to welcoming you into membership.
