The CIEH believes it is essential for environmental health to be included into local area agreements as this will benefit the health of local people, raise the profile of the profession and may help secure resources into environmental health departments.
This guidance note is designed to help environmental health practitioners achieve the above objective. It begins by explaining what local area agreements are and goes on to provide advice on how to get environmental health issues incorporated into them. It includes a number of examples of local authorities who have been successful in doing this.
