This position statement was issued by the Faculty of Public Health in July 2008 and was endorsed by the CIEH and a number of other organisations working in the public health field. It explains the importance of measures to help protect people with mental health problems from the effects of tobacco smoke and sets out a number of recommendations for both government and the health services for developing such measures.
