Summary

At a Climate Change Practitioners Forum in June 2009, delegates agreed a new strategy to aid environmental health practitioners in tackling climate change. One of the specific projects was to be the collation of examples of good practice. This publication is the result. Launched during Climate Week 2011 it demonstrates the wide range of environmental health initiatives and interventions that are tackling climate change in practical ways. It contains over 70 case studies from sustainable transport initiatives to local food schemes to energy saving projects and many more.

Environmental health practitioners are in a unique position, engaging on a daily basis with both businesses and the general public, to influence behaviour in communities. This publication highlights the achievements and celebrates the successes of environmental health in dealing with climate change issues.
