ISBN: N/A
Topics:
Environmental protection
Pest Control
Type:
Report
Summary:

This report reviews the potential for mosquito borne disease in Britain, both now and in the near future, with the focus on health risks in urban areas. It argues that improved knowledge, targeted control measures and monitoring are needed to ensure that current mosquito problems do not escalate and that risks are reduced.

The report was commissioned by the CIEH National Pest Advisory Panel as part of the debate on the need for greater public health interventions in resolving pest problems. Its views are not necessarily those of the CIEH.

The author is C.A Malcolm from the School of Biological Sciences, Queen Mary, University of London.
