Development Portfolio Assesment Route to UK PHR

The UK Public Health Register (which superseded the UK Voluntary Register) was established in 2003 and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health has been represented at the Board since its inception. The aim of the Board is to promote public confidence in specialist public health practice and registration with the Board only happens after applicants have undergone a robust assessment process.

This new ‘Developmental Portfolio Assessment Route to Registration’, formulated and managed by the Chartered Institute retains the robust nature of the Board’s own retrospective portfolio assessment against the Assessment Framework and combines this with a professional developmental process, to deliver competent Defined Specialists in Public Health.

Inclusion on the Register is a recognition of a practitioner’s competence, professionalism and ethical self-management, both by one’s peers in the field of Public Health and by the wider Public Health community.

This new route is open to all experienced practitioners, working in Environmental and Public Health, who feel they aspire to meet the requirements of the Assessment Framework, and who want to do this in a staged, developmental way.

Guidance on the Developmental Portfolio Assessment Route can be found here.

The fee for each assessment is £110
