In 2006 the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health contracted with the CCFA to provide an adapted version of its food safety training certification programme.
To date (mid-2008), more than 50 major retailers and food franchises throughout the country have taken part in the CCFA-CIEH programme. A cadre of trainers has been accredited to deliver CIEH food safety qualifications in their own organisations. CCFA-CIEH aim to extend their reach by working with third-party training and service providers to deliver food safety qualifications direct to their clients.
These developments will have a significant impact on public health and consumer confidence in China. The CCFA-CIEH high quality standard qualifications - from induction to senior management level - will support China’s aim to achieve officially internationally recognized standards of food safety in all food premises.
