Who Should attend?
This workshop has been designed for local authority officers who have been assigned the role of enforcing COVID regulations and legislation, including those with powers under the Health and Safety at Work Act and those who have been specifically designated during the current pandemic.
It is assumed that attendees will have a basic knowledge of COVID-19 and the precautions required.
The workshop will include information on the various options for enforcement, when to apply formal enforcement, including its scope and the limits of application, and how to ensure enforcement is justified.
Officers will be able to:
• Understand the applicable law and guidance relevant to COVID-19, the difference between the two, and their role
• Understand the scope and limits of their enforcement powers
• Deliver consistent, proportionate, and targeted enforcement using a risk-based enforcement model
