Overview
This event provides an overview of gas safety from the perspective of an Enforcement Officer. Delegates will learn the history behind gas safety and be introduced to gas certification and gas registration. The main topics will go into combustion, along with the dangerous side effects of carbon monoxide and what to look out for. Ventilation and chimneys, different types of appliances and their flue requirements, along with regulations, good practice, and inspection criteria, will also be discussed.
This session will explore what constitutes an unsafe situation along with an unsafe installation, who has the right to carry out certain actions, and the responsibilities of owners and Gas Safe engineers. Delegates will learn how to identify the differences between conditions that are immediately dangerous, at risk and not to the current standards.
