Overview

The FSA Local Authority Intelligence Co-ordination Team (LAICT) was formed in August 2022 following learnings from the food standards delivery model review and the proposed move to a more intelligence-led model. The team works closely with FSA colleagues in Northern Ireland and Wales to ensure a coordinated ‘one FSA’ approach to the use of intelligence.

The team will discuss how invaluable intelligence is in understanding developing threats and risks at a local, regional and national level. We will discuss what intelligence is, how officers can use it to inform how official controls are delivered, and how to share intelligence in each of the three countries, all of which are vital in delivering our shared mission of food you can trust.
