Chartered Practitioner: conversion route

For those holding the EHRB Certification of Registration with less than five years' practice post registration.

This route is for those environmental health practitioners who hold the EHRB Certification of Registration and have less than five years' practice post registration.

It is a one-year programme enabling practitioners to achieve chartered status through the completion of specific elements of the full programme.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

  • Have EHRB Certificate of Registration (EHRB CoR) with less than 5 years' practice post registration
  • Hold either the Member (MCIEH) or Fellowship (FCIEH) grade
  • Be currently practicing in an environmental health setting
  • Be able to provide a statement of employer support

Benefits

Comparable to the two-year chartered programme the conversion route is employer-led, enabling practitioners to apply their learning in the workplace.

The workplace project remains a key part of the conversion route and co-development of a workplace project ensures that this programme is meaningful for both practitioner and employer.

Cost

A one-off application fee of £480.

This includes registration fees, on-programme monitoring and administration, supporting and guidance materials, assessment and ratification and certification of Chartered Status.

Registration for the September 2019 programme has now closed. The next programme will begin on Friday 3 April 2020. Registrations for the April programme must be received by Friday 3 April 2020.
