Chartered Status: points route

For those holding the EHRB Certification of Registration with more than five years' practice post registration or 10 years' relevant work experience.

This route is for those environmental health practitioners who have the required combination of professional qualifications and expertise gained on the job, which may make them eligible for an upgrade to Chartered Status.

Please note that this route to Chartered Status will close on 31 December 2019, so please contact us before then if you believe that your application satisfies the criteria listed below.

Eligibility criteria

To gain Chartered Status, you will need:

  • Member (MCIEH) grade
  • Either five years’ experience since gaining the EHRB Certificate of Registration OR 10 years’ experience after passing a CIEH accredited degree
  • To demonstrate eight points in the Chartered Status Assessment
  • 60 hours of CPD within the last three years
  • Once Chartered you will be required to complete 30 hours of CPD per year.
