CIEH Present “I Am Environmental Health”, a Collaboration with ITN Productions Industry News

02 August 2019, Ross Matthewman

CIEH and ITN Productions Industry News are producing a news and current affairs-style programme, “I Am Environmental Health” launching in November 2019.

CIEH, the voice of environmental health since 1883, and ITN Productions Industry News will be co-creators of the programme designed to raise awareness and understanding of the environmental health profession and illustrate the positive impact the industry has on public health and wellbeing globally.

Anchored by national newsreader Kate Garraway, “I Am Environmental Health” will challenge traditional perceptions of environmental health roles. Often the unsung heroes, environmental health professionals ensure a safer, cleaner and healthier environment for everyone, across a variety of core disciplines including food safety and integrity, housing and communities, health and safety, environmental protection and public health.

Combining key industry interviews and reports “I Am Environmental Health” will provide a greater understanding of the industry and will explore the vital work taking place within the environmental health sector and demonstrate the variety of roles and subject matter covered from modern day slavery to beauty industry regulation.

The programme will premiere at the CIEH Excellence Awards on Thursday 14 November 2019 in London and will form part of an extensive communications campaign featuring CIEH members and professional partners, as well as journalists, writers and bloggers.

Anne Godfrey, Chief Executive of CIEH, said:

“We are delighted to be partnering with ITN Productions. Their enthusiasm for environmental health is encouraging and we can’t wait to work with them to promote the vital work of our practitioners. This is a unique opportunity to showcase the role of environmental health in our lives and our communities.”

Vicki Clubley, Head of Industry News, ITN Productions said:

“We are really excited by the opportunity to work with the CIEH to create a programme that we hope will educate and inform viewers about the vital role of environmental health professionals and challenge industry perceptions. We also hope the film will inspire the next generation to pursue a career in the sector.”
