The Directory of Student Training Opportunities is a listing of training opportunities managed by CIEH to help students complete their Environmental Health Practitioner (EHP) Portfolio.
As we are facing a shortage of environmental health professionals, supporting individuals on the pathway to professional status will help to address this challenge. Read our EHN article on the Directory to understand more about the benefits it provides to students.
We continue to seek submissions from employers. The opportunities offered should ideally align with the requirements of the Portfolio and do not need to be at a high level, since it seeks to produce EHPs who are day-one practice ready. It does not matter if similar types of opportunities are offered, since this helps to widen the choice available to students and to reduce pressure on providers.
Where a provider can offer training opportunities or experiences that do not readily fit into the Portfolio, we request that these are still included, since the practical element of training is designed to provide a well-rounded and experienced EHP, and therefore any experience is valuable.
