Chartered Status is the highest level of professional achievement within the environmental health profession and recognises an individual's breadth of knowledge and experience.
Chartered Environmental Health Practitioners (EHPs) can use the post-nominals 'CEnvH' and a digital credential to formally demonstrate that they have met the required standards. They are also include on our online Professional Register to enable their credentials to be verified.
Chartered EHPs are also eligible to enter the Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register.
We have relaunched the route to Chartered Status based on feedback from members during our phase two consultation.

You will need to submit:
Your case study will be assessed.
If successful, the case study will then form the basis of an online professional discussion.
You will be awarded chartered status if you pass both the case study and professional discussion elements.

The application fee is £169 for 2024. This includes the cost of the assessment of your portfolio, your professional discussion and certification.
The Chartered Practitioner Programme was the route to achieve Chartered Status between 2018 and 2024. Entry to the programme was closed at the end of 2022. The remaining candidates should complete this route in 2024.
