CIEH Conversations: Telling the EH story

In this session, members will build the skills and confidence to share the value and impact of their environmental health work through compelling case studies. We often hear that EHPs feel the profession is invisible, yet every day environmental health professionals are making a real difference to people’s health, communities and the wider economy.

Case studies are a powerful way to make that difference visible. They provide concrete examples of what EHPs do, the challenges they tackle and most importantly, the difference their work makes. By building a library of impact-focused case studies together, we can showcase the breadth and value of environmental health and give members the opportunity to see their own work and achievements recognised and shared with audiences across government, business and the third sector.

Following the session, members will be invited to submit case studies that demonstrate the value and impact of their work, helping us build a collection that reflects the contribution of environmental health professionals across the sector.

The session will be divided into two parts:

60-minute step-by-step guide to developing an impact-first case study (1 hour CPD)
30-minute optional guided practice session to develop an outline case study based on your own work (1/2 hour CPD)

As a follow up, attendees will be invited to put their learning into practice by submitting an outline case study. Those who submit a piece to the required quality standard as determined through the session, will then be contacted to develop their case study further in partnership with the CIEH team.
