Executive Director of Environmental Health recruitment update

Over recent months the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) has conducted an extensive recruitment process for the pivotal role of Executive Director of Environmental Health. We met with candidates who all demonstrated considerable individual strengths, and an incredible commitment to CIEH and moving forward policy, advocacy and public affairs for environmental health. To meet the requirements of the role, candidates needed to have a very wide breadth of knowledge and skill. The panel took several days of deliberation to conclude that the candidates did not demonstrate they could meet the very high bar set by the role. We'd like to thank these candidates for their time and effort, and we sincerely hope to work with them in some capacity in the future.

We recognise the importance of the role of Executive Director of Environmental Health and are committed to finding the right person that will deliver on the expectations of our membership, staff and influential stakeholders. CIEH will now reflect on what we have learnt during this process to ensure we secure a long-term, successful appointment to this pivotal role. We will move as quickly as we can to fill this post and we will be looking at interim arrangements while we do this.
