Environmental Health Registration Board

EHRB formally closed in December 2021. CIEH now owns its Registers, which are published on this page as a permanent record.

Prior to September 2021, Environmental Health Practitioners (EHPs) and related professionals who qualified in England, Wales and Northern Ireland were Registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB).

EHRB formally closed in December 2021. CIEH now owns its Registers, which are published here as a permanent record:

Practitioners' Registrations with EHRB will remain valid indefinitely.

Some Practitioners may also wish to appear on CIEH's Register and have access to the relevant digital credentials (and REnvH designatory letters in the case of Environmental Health Practitioners). We have therefore created a simple process to do this:

To gain entry to the Environmental Health Practitioner Register, you will need:

  1. To be a Registered EHP with EHRB – Certificate of Registration (degree, etc), Public Health/Environmental Health Diploma, Registered Sanitary Inspector or Public Health Inspector
  2. Be a current Member (MCIEH) or Fellow (FCIEH). (Registration is not available for retired members)

The enrolment fee for 2024 is £49.

To gain entry to the Food Safety Practitioner Register, you will need:

  1. To be Registered with EHRB – Higher Certificate in Food Control
  2. Be a current Associate, Member or Fellow. (Registration is not available for retired members)
  3. Provide 30 hours of food-related CPD records from within the last three years, including certification. (Records uploaded to MyCIEH are fine)
  4. Pay your enrolment fee

The enrolment fee for 2024 is £49.

Please note that ongoing Registration with CIEH is dependent on maintaining membership and CPD at the appropriate levels.
