Bitesize training: works in default

Overview

This bitesize training event will enable environmental health practitioners to carry out WID more effectively by dispelling the myths around it and providing a constructive view of the law. The session will assess the relevant statutory notices and case laws which prompt councils to undertake the work required. There will also be an exploration of the various avenues available when completing works in default and the ways of recovering costs once the work has been completed.

Objectives

  • Gain an understanding of the relevant statutory and case law
  • Recognise when and how to use this power
  • Learn how to recover the costs of WID
  • Know-how and why you can be challenged and how to make valid decisions that can be defended

Who should attend

These bitesize sessions will appeal to all newly qualified environmental health officers, housing surveyors and managers from both the public and private sectors.

What past delegates thought:

  • “All of it - extremely informative and detailed on the subject"
