CIEH Pest Control Conference: safeguarding public health
Online (BigMarker)Recent cuts in local authority budgets have had an adverse impact on the availability of pest services in the UK. According to the latest surveys over one fifth of councils already lost pest control staff and thirty five per cent currently have no in-house pest control service at all. The lack of adequate resources to deal with the growing pest population presents a major challenge to local communities and in consequence to public health. The CIEH Pest Control Conference organized in partnership with the National Pest Advisory Panel (NPAP) aims to gather pest control professionals and experts to debate the key developing issues, to evaluate risks and challenges, and to discuss actions needed to protect the public health from the threats posed by uncontained pest proliferation.
